Most definitely prefer wood-tipped...although when I was growing up, I love the plastic/carbon/hollow sticks! ha, I think it was because they had army print on them....sounded like crap though!

it will give you a much warmer sound. I say it really depends on what style you play...go for it! Once you give it a shot you will know for sure..not a huge investment.

Had a chance to go check some of these out at a local shop and I have to say I was BLOWN away! Honestly I had my doubts b/c who can stand up to the "BIG cymbal companies"? But I have to say that they had the most consistent tone throughout each cymbal! I can say that when It comes time for me to buy new cymbals I will be looking away from the big 3 and will focus more on the smaller private companies. That's my 2 cents.

Love the part where he is explaining what's on his mind when he's playing..I think it shows a different level of maturity when your not having to think of just what your doing behind the kit, but can let it take you into other things mentally.

Got a chance to play them yesterday at a local retailer. In short, Very Nice! Bright distinctive tone without being harsh at all. The rides had character and depth to them but also articulated very well. Also, got to A/B them in the store against quite a few different brands including the big three Zildjian, Paiste and Sabian along with some other Turkish brands and I have to say in my opinion Soultone came out on top.
